Ther Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria Parish is a community located in Barangay Silangan San Mateo Rizal. Before it became a parish it was a mission chapel under the Parish of San Jose de Ampid and later was passed to the quasi-parish of Sto. Nino in
This mission chapel was catering the spiritual needs of the members of the AFP village, a housing facility for retired military officers and enlisted personnels. Through the joint effort of this Catholic Community they built a chapel dedicated to “Christ the King.” This was founded on the 3rd Sunday of November 1986. The inauguration and groundbreaking ceremony was held November 17, 1988 officiated by the Parish Priest of Nuestra Senora de Aranzazu, Rev. Fr. Jose Mathan. Construction immediately followed after the groundbreaking and was completed after nine years but because of unavailability of geodetic engineer to relocate the designated chapel site, the building was constructed on the wrong site, Palmera Subdivision now owned the land where the chapel was erected.
In the middle part of 2002 up to May 2003 some improvements were introduced to accommodate the increasing number of church goers, then Bishop Crisostomo Yalung DD made a decree creating the Christ the King Chapel a parish dedicating it to Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria whose feast is July 5 and in July 28, 2003 Bishop Gabriel V. Reyes, DD, of the Diocese of Antipolo installed Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria as full-pledged parish designating Rev. Fr. Richard B. Genetiano from the Clerics Regular of Saint Paul as the first parish priest with Fr. Aldo Rizzi as the assistant parish priest.
In the later part of 2004 the Parish Pastoral Council and the Finance Committee unanimously agreed to launch a project “Palakihin ang Simbahan.” The construction started October 25, 2004 and was completed January 2005. The move was timely because the old chapel was so small to accommodate the increasing number of parishioners who were participating in the Eucharistic celebrations. The parish fiesta is celebrated on the first Sunday of July as agreed upon by the parishioners so that the fiesta will fall on a Sunday which will be convenient for all the parishioners because it is a non working day.
Today the Saint Anthony Mary Zaccaria Parish has a new Parish Priest. After six years, in 2010, the first parish Priest Fr. Richard Genetiano CRSP received a new assignment and was assigned to
