MINISTRY OF EVANGELIZATION AND LAY FORMATION
The aim of this ministry is to effect interior transformation by carrying forth the Good News to every sector of the Parish, so that by its strength, it may enter into the hearts of all parishioners. The ministry preaches, spreads and promotes Christian values through seminars, recollections and formations that will lead people to live a life of holiness.
The Biblical Apostolate of the Holy Family Parish was established in 1986. At the time, the Diocese of Antipolo decreed that all church workers, mandated organizations and movements are required to attend Basic Bible Seminars (BBS) I, II and III under the tutelage of the Biblical Apostolate. From then on, the BA has sustainably conducted BBS levels I, II and III in the Parish. As an outreach program, it also holds BBS I and II in some parishes in Rizal.
Members of the Biblical Apostolate are evangelizers of the Word of God. They provide basic information to the seminar participants on how to read the Bible, inculcate the importance of reading the Bible regularly, and help propagate the Good News of the Lord through seminars and renewals. In essence, they help the Parish establish a strong foundation of the Christian faith.
Being a catechist is both a calling and a task. It is said that catechists are selected by the Lord to serve even before they are born. They belong to a human family and are raised among relatives and neighbors amidst nature and the environment surrounding them. It is God who awakens them to their real selves, giving each of them a sense of identity, responsibility, dignity and community.
As catechists, they are able to give light to the world around them, leading the people of God and, at the same time, developing their inner leadership qualities based on Christian values. Catechists are engaged in evangelization for the Christianization of the world.
In the Holy Family Parish, catechists are tasked to teach the Catholic faith in public schools; handle seminars during pre-Cana; and conduct seminars for parents and godparents of children to be baptized, among other tasks.
HOLY FAMILY PARISH CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC COMMUNITY
Each time God takes the place of our ego, in a living human act, there we find the presence of the Holy Spirit of Love in Christ, with Christ, and for Christ. It was in June 1989, under the spiritual guidance of Fr. Jose P. Matan, when the Catholic Charismatic Community (HFPCCC) came into existence in the Holy Family Parish. It was formed by the blending together of two charismatic prayer groups within the parish, namely the Goya Prayer Group and the Mystical Rose Catholic Charismatic Renewal.
Every Wednesday after the 7:00 P.M. Mass, the community gathers for their prayer meeting and spiritual formation. Once a month on a parochial level, they hold a Mass and Healing Rally. An ordinary and yet wonderful gift is the presence of the Spirit in these gatherings, enlivening people’s daily existence and relieving common burdens.
The Charismatic community gives praise and glory to the Holy Divine God it as joins the 25th Jubilee Year of our Parish existence.
The Cursillo Movement has long been present in the Holy Family Parish, its members participating in various church organizations.
In 2007, a meeting was held to formalize and re-energize the Cursillistas under the leadership and support of the parish priest, Father Larry Paz. Henceforth, every 1st Tuesday of the month, they have held the “Oras ng mga Alagad”; and on the last Tuesday, “Daang Krus”. Since then they have conducted two Cursillo classes and two Grand Ultreyas, held during the month of December.
In Hebrew, “El Shaddai” means “God Almighty” (Genesis 17:1, 35:11), Creator of Heaven and Earth. He is the God of Israel, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He is the Source of Life and all things living. Nothing is impossible with God.
It is the mission of El Shaddai dWXI Prayer Partners Fellowship International, Inc. to spread the Word of God – His Greatness, Truth, Power and Might, Goodness and Love; to offer solace and peace of mind to people who are burdened with problems; to offer physical and spiritual healing; but most of all, to see that everyone accepts our Lord Jesus Christ, only-begotten Son of God.
The El Shaddai Community began in the Holy Family Parish way back 1991, when the Balite Prayer Group united with the Holy Family Lapu-Lapu Chapter.
LAY MINISTRY OF THE WORD
Lay Ministry of the Word (LMW) was born in the Holy Family Parish in 2002, when our parish responded to a call for participants to join the Holy Scriptures Seminar at the Immaculate Conception Parish Formation Center. Thereby followed weekly studies and reflections of the Sunday Gospel, wherein church workers and parishioners participated in studying the Word of God as discussed by the LMW speakers and the parish priest; Bible services; proclamation of the Word of God in funeral services, home or vehicle blessings, and adult catechesis and seminars.
In 2004, the LMW brought the Gospel to the streets of Barangay Parang (including some notorious areas) with the accompaniment of the Sacred Music Ministry and the help of some charismatic brothers and sisters. And two years later, LMW organized street Masses until they were redirected to handle other activities for the continuing evangelization of other areas within the parish. They preached on the similarities and differences of the five (5) noteworthy religions in the country. They also presented the module Catechism for Filipino Catholics to the various ministries, organizations and movements.
Every Christmas during the 9-day novena (Simbang Gabi), LMW members are tasked to give catechesis before the Holy Mass in the main church and in all chapels within the parish.
The Holy Family Parish Munting Kristo Sunday School was founded in September 1987 with Jun and Noemi Tenorio as coordinators. It was an organization meant to inculcate faith in God to children 5-12 years of age. From the start, response to the school was very positive, because at a very young age the children are quite open to the importance of nurturing their spiritual selves by heeding the Word of God.
As time went by, some teacher-leaders emerged from the children themselves, and they kept the formation center alive and its spiritual fire burning. Former members have grown into adulthood, yet continued to live as true Christian mothers, teachers, nurses and other career workers.
Munting Kristo is open to children who are willing to accept God in their lives and inspire other children to be little disciples of the Lord.
Parish Renewal Experience (PREX) is a Catholic formation seminar that evangelizes and unites families in the parish; brings conversion experience and gives birth to active lay evangelizers; unites parishioners with their parish priests and renews the Catholic Church as a whole.
The Holy Family Parish received the PREX as a gift from St. Paul of the Cross Parish-SSS Village in 1993. In return, the movement now shares the renewal experience with other parishes such as San Isidro Labrador in Nangka, Marikina; St. Jerome and San Isidro Labrador parises in Morong,Rizal; St. Anthony Zaccaria Parish in San Mateo, Rizal; and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Talim, Binangongan, Rizal. The seminars are targeted to be held every other month.
